I think not only is it a human thing, but more specifically a woman thing to want to be prepared. As you know, I am going through one of the biggest struggles I have faced thus far in my life and I want so badly to know that I am serving God the right way through this time. When he blesses me through things like my recent scholarship and being elected class president at nursing school - I feel so overwhelmed and undeserving. I could never repay all He has done for me - but I see in each of those circumstances He gave me the opportunity to share who He is with a substantial number of people. I try to remember that this life is so temporary and the suffering we have dealt with here and continued to praise our Lord through will be greatly rewarded. Is that the only reason why we sing His praises? Surely not, but sometimes, as you know, that is what gets us from day to day, moment to moment. Thanks for being transparent - As Christians we should wrap our arms around each other and support each other - unfortunately too many times we are too concerned about what we may look like to others to truly open up. I think God also rewards that transparency. People gain so much from knowing they are not the only "unperfect" being. :-)
