Food Boxes

We attend a church that is very generous in their giving. While it is easy for many in the congregation to write a check for community causes, our family was able to witness and participate in an annual church event that coupled this generosity with hard work on the behalf of others. Close to 600 boxes of food (each box contained $40 of food items) were packed last night by over 200 families representing all ages. Families packed individual boxes with food, and then once finished, prayed over the box and for the family who would receive the food the next day. It took our family close to 2 hours to pack 5 boxes, and the sense of accomplishment and heartfelt joy our children experienced will always be remembered.
